12 years ago I entered Canada with the intention of staying. In March of this year I became a new Canadian and now I am embarking on a journey across this new country of mine.  We are taking Via Rail all the way from Ottawa to Vancouver,  myself as the new Canadian, five beautiful children, and enough gluten-free food to hopefully last us for the three days and four nights of travel.

This trip  was made possible by the Cultural Access Pass, a gift to new Canadians that allows you to visit museums and parks for free for one year, and it gives you 50% off of via rail for a one time trip anywhere in Canada.  The purpose is to give you the chance to see Canada, to allow you to access all the wonderful and rich cultural and natural places,  and to give you a sense of welcome and gratitude. This truly is been the case for me, and this trip is the chance of a lifetime. When else would I be able to afford, or be crazy enough, to take five kids across Canada?

So it begins. Shhh, it is happening.
Sit back and enjoy the ride, as we explore Canada, experience Via Rail, and see how 5 kids experience this wonderful part of our planet.
